How can diabetes education help you?

Diabetes is a condition in which a person can have a high level of blood glucose (sugar) which if not brought under control can negatively impact quality of life.

We want to motivate you through diabetes education to make simple changes, which will lead you to a healthy and active life.

The Spirit Hub gives people with diabetes a great place to easily book onto an appropriate course.

Adele's story

Adele of Dudley, attended an X-PERT course after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Initially fearful and worried she really embraced the course and hasn’t felt this good for 20 years. She has lost 20 kilo’s, halved her medication and is well on her way to remission.

Million people have Type 2 diabetes.

3.4 million people with Type 2 diabetes in England with around 200,000 new diagnoses every year.

One in 15 people in the UK have diabetes, including one million people who have type 2, but haven’t been diagnosed.

About 8 per cent of people with diabetes in the UK have Type 1 diabetes. It’s got nothing to do with diet or lifestyle, it just happens. We’re still not sure what causes it.
